Prayer on seeing enemy's joy
48. Introduction. One who refrains from wishing harm to an enemy is only half a Christian. The true charitable person understands all humans are connected and thus wants all of life's events to help their adversary to spiritually advance.1
49. Prayer. My God! You thought it appropriate to bless [person's name]. I understand that your decision is the best one for their spiritual evolution. Despite their hostility towards me, I hope your blessing will help them growing better and wiser. If they use your present to abase me, I will pray for them and accept humiliation as a tool to teach me mastering my pride.
Lord
Jesus! Keep me from feeling annoyance, envy and jealousy over this.
Instead, inspire me to be generous! I know that true humiliation lies
in doing evil, never in being humble, and that divine justice reaches
all, according to each one's deeds. ______________ 1 - See chapter 12, items 7 and 8.
