IV - PRAYERS FOR THOSE NO LONGER ON THE EARTH Prayer for a newly disembodied
59. Introduction. The prayer for a spirit that has just left the Earth helps it to detach itself from body, shortens the mental disturbance it may be undergoing, allows it to wake up more serenely in the afterlife and testifies it our solidarity. As it always happens, prayer efficiency lies in thought sincerity rather than in ceremonial pomp or word abundance. The heartbound prayer resounds around the still-confused spirit like a soft voice that gently awakens it.1
60. Prayer. Almighty God! May your mercy cover the spirit of [person's name]. Take into account the trials it successfully endured on this planet. Ease the mindly labyrinth it might be feeling. Good Spirits who came to receive it, and especially you, its guiding spirit: help it to get rid of body influence; give it the guidance and self-awareness necessary to remove it from the mental confusion that usually accompanies disincarnation; inspire in it repentance and willingness to make amends for its mistakes. [Person’s name]: you have just returned to the spiritual homeland. However, you still feel here among us because your spirit remains alive, despite the death of your physical body. You no longer live a carnal existence. You left your corporeal tool, which was subject to material disturbances, but you retain your mind. Now you can experience again the life of the spirits. Such an existence is exempt from material turbulences that trouble humankind. We, the incarnate, still have to continue our learning journey on the planet until the day God calls us. In the world you now live in, all the earthly grudges must cease. Therefore, strive to get rid of wrath and revenge desire. Forgive everyone unconditionally if you want to advance towards peace. Now, freed from bodily limitations, you can ask God's permission for you to travel through space, visit other environments, see new wonders, contemplate the splendor of future life and the horizon of infinity! In front of such a greatness you will understand the smallness of worldly desire, human pride and selfish pleasures that still dazzle the crowds. Now you can ask the Almighty an opportunity for you to find again your dear disincarnated ones. Furthermore, at the proper time, when you get ready, you will be able to see again the dear beings you left behind on the crust. Until that day comes, you can comfort your beloved incarnated by sending them the thought that you are fine. Be aware that physical death means only a momentary separation. We cannot go there up to you, but you remain in our thoughts. Remind that, depending on effort and merit, one day all of us will be allowed to meet again! Remark. Special words may be added according to the circumstances. If the deceased one is a child, for instance, we could remind that they might be long-created advanced spirits, and that a short existence could be a former incarnation completion or a trial for their parents.2
61. (Other) - My God! May your mercy extend over our brethren who have just disincarnated. Keep them from the dark by shining your light over them! May the good spirits enable them to hear words of hope and peace. Supreme Majesty! We know we are unworthy. But even so we dare begging your merciful indulgence for our companion who has just passed. Forgive the wrongs they committed and remember the good they did. Your justice is immutable, we know that, but your love is infinite. We ask you to soften your gaze on them through the love lenses that come from you. And you, our sibling in God who has just returned to the spiritual home: may the divine light shine over you! May the good spirits envelope you and help you to rid yourself of remnant material bonds. Understand and behold the greatness of God. Yield without complaint to the true justice. Trust in the divine mercy. My sibling in God! May a remembrance of your past lives open to you the portals of the future, so that you might understand the wrongs you are leaving behind and the work required for you to repair them. May God forgive you. May the good spirits uphold and encourage you. We, your brothers and sisters on the Earth, are praying for you. And we ask you to also pray for us.3
