Prayer to keep evil spirits away

15. Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees! You hypocrites! You are like white-washed tombs which look clean outside but are full of rottenness inside. In the same way, on the outside you appear to be righteous to the people, but in the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness. (Matthew 23:27-28.)

16. Introduction. The evil spirits go to where they find that which satisfies their interest. In order to avoid them, it is insufficient asking them to depart or even ordering them to get away. To avert their influence, we must get rid of the moral flaws of ours which attract them.

The ill spirits sniff the wounds of a soul just like a fly sniffs the wound of a body. We must cleansing our bodies to keep vermin away. Likewise, we must remove the moral impurities of our souls to keep malicious spirits away.

We live in a world which still shelters many ignorant spirits. They may attack everyone, even the righteous. Nevertheless, the routine practice of the good gives one the necessary strength to resist their offensive.

17. Prayer. In the name of the Almighty God, may the evil spirits stay away from me, and may the good spirits serve as my defense against them!

Wicked spirits, who suggest people evil thoughts; hypocritical spirits, who delude them; and mocking spirits, who entertain yourselves with their gullibility: I repel you with all the strength of my soul, and I shut my ears and eyes to your manipulation! However, I ask the God's mercy upon you.

Good spirits! Give me strength to resist the assault of the evil spirits, and understanding to avoid their traps.

Keep me from pride, conceit, jealousy, hatred, malevolence, selfishness and all uncharitable emotions, which are open doors to the manipulative spirits.

Give me strength and guidance to persevere in the practice of disinterested good, so that, by raising my spiritual vibration, I could get out of tune of the lower spirits.
