Prayer for a suicidal
71. Introduction. No one is allowed to suicide. Only God is entitled to disincarnate us. The divine justice often softens our life's harshness, according to the circumstance, but it is rigorous with the suicidal, for they are like fled prisoners. When recaptured, they need more severe treatment. Those who suppose they could escape ordeal through suicide are completely mistaken. This is a gloomy illusion. After having killed their own body the suicidal gets into a much worse agony.1
72. Prayer. My God! We know the terrible distress destined to those who violate your law through suicide, but your mercy is infinite! Deign to extend your piety over the spirit of [person's name]. Soften the suffering that spirit undergoes for having destroyed the body you entrusted them. Divine assistants! Take that poor spirit under your care. Inspire them repentance for their mistake. Give them strength to more resignedly bear the additional trials they will have to endure in order to repair such wrong. Keep from them the evil spirits who may mislead them and prolong their pain. You, whose misfortune motivates our prayer, we wish you relief and hope! Mind that your future is in your own hands. Trust in the God's mercy, which shines to the repentant but remains invisible to the impenitent. _______________ 1 - See chapter 5 from item 14 on.
