Prayer for impenitent spirits

75. Introduction. Regret absence, evildoing pleasure, wise guidance disregard, repulsion to prayer, blasphemy and vengeance promotion are common characteristics of the hardened spirits. After disincarnating they tend to persecute the embodied ones they hate, either by obsession or by any other type of harmful influence.1

We can roughly divide the perverse spirits into two categories: they who are frankly evil and those who are hypocritical. The former are easier to be led towards good. They are often brutish and openly coarse, similar to many incarnates, and they commit evil more out of ignorance than malice. They can be rescued from darkness through prayer, reason, perseverance, and a balance between firmness and benevolence. The fear they feel before the God’s name indicates that they have conscience open to be developed and that they may be on the awakening brink. To help them to escape from illusion the first task is finding a sensitive spot within their hearts.

The hypocritical spirits are quite different. Usually smart, they are extremely backward in virtue. Their hearts lack even the least sensitive fiber. They fake to be good and use lies as a tool. Almost nothing touches them. Utilizing pretense to gain one’s trust, they laugh when they find someone naive enough to accept them as friendly spirits, and use their victims' gullibility to manipulate them. The God’s name, far from inspiring them respect, serves them as a mask to disguise their baseness. In the invisible world, as well as in the material dimension, the hypocrites are the most dangerous beings, as they hide their true intention without anyone suspecting them. However, their serious disharmony with the divine laws brings to themselves enormous anguish. By using their often-refined intellect to harm others they also self-destroy. That is why they are deeply sick and need our pity.

76. Prayer. My God! Cast a look of mercy and kindness on the spirits who disrespect you and live in the ignorance darkness, especially on the spirit of [person's name].

Divine assistants! Clarify to the hardened spirits that harming others is a bad deal, as the wickedness of the evildoer raises their own distress. Show them a glimpse of the bliss you enjoy, so that it might push them to thinking.

Spirits that still delights in evil! Hear the prayer we send you. Notice the sincerity of our thoughts. We wish you well, although you prefer doing evil. What most disturbs you is your own wrong attitude. It is impossible for you to be in peace while offending the law of love. But it is up to you to escape the labyrinth you have put yourself in. Your liberation just depends on you. Why do you refuse to take the first step? Try seeing the good spirits. Notice how serene, enlightened and powerful they are. Think of the opportunity they are offering you. Trust them! You may think that it is impossible for you to take advantage of such opportunity, but everything is possible for the one who wants it. God gave you freedom to choose between good and evil, that is, between peace and restlessness. No one is condemned to do evil. Turn your eyes to God. Elevate your thoughts to the Creating Source and a ray of divine light will illuminate you. Say with sincerity these simple words: “My God! I repent. Have mercy on me!” Make a commitment to do good instead of evil and you will see the God’s mercy extending over you. Thus a well-being, so far unknown by you, will start replacing your pain. Once you've taken a step on the path to the light the rest of your journey will seem easier. You will then understand the time you have been wasting. By repenting of your mistakes you will open a hopeful future for yourself. You will forget your miserable past, full of mental torments, which would be the hell for you if it lasted forever. If you spurn this opportunity, a day will come when your agony will be so unbearable that you will beg it to lower whatever the cost. The longer your delay, however, the higher will be the price to pay. It is entirely possible for you to improve your current situation. You have two options. The first is welcoming the love that God offers you, through which you will allow your sad status to get better. The second option is persisting in your obstinacy and sinking deeper and deeper into your own quicksand. So hurry up!

Good spirits! Allow these words to access that suffering mind. We ask you for your kindness in the name of Jesus Christ, who has immense power over the evil spirits.
